She’d go through episodes of a few days at a time where she’d be very anxious, go to the litter box frequently, and have visible traces of blood in her urine. The symptoms would then disappear for weeks, almost to return like clockwork every 3 weeks. When we brought her to the vet, she was given Baytril (antibiotics) to rule out an acute UTI as well as Hills Canned CD food. A few years later, we have her back on normal adult Science Diet Cat food – and we haven’t had any recurring episodes and hope they never return.

If you look closely at the ingredients/nutritional content of their regular formula vs CD, it’s not dramatically different. Might be something useful to try if you’ve been given a fate of buying prescription food for the rest of your cats life (and your cat is relatively young).
